BWRT

BWRT is somewhat of a newcomer to the therapy landscape and a notable participant at that.

It is a broad-spectrum therapy that provides incredible results for a vast range of issues, from basic phobias and anxiety to severe PTSD and damaging behaviours.

It works quickly and very effectively.  It is also long-standing and largely permanent. Unlike many other therapy modalities, it does not involve tapping, breathing, or similar. BWRT just works, and remarkably well. So well that we have encouraged our entire therapy team to get on board and become experts in BWRT.

So how does it work and differ from other types of therapy? BWRT engages what is known as the ‘cognitive gap,’ which is a space before thoughts enter consciousness. Most therapies operate via the amygdala, which is not only where thoughts are conscious but also, possibly, anxiety-triggering. BWRT hits hard in the early brain before messages have even been received by the amygdala. This early brain is the Reptilian Complex, also known as the Lizard Brain – which is the first area of the brain to respond in all sentient animals. Therefore, it is also faster than the fastest thoughts and the primary narrator or actioner in response to threats (real or imaginary).
