Spirituality is a vastly wide subject that in itself can be a lifetime study.

In the counselling setting what I do is approach each person and together we discover more or what makes up their world.

For some people there is no concept of a spiritual life - what you see is what you get. In such cases we move on and find out the skills and abilities they have.

If however a person has a spiritual element then investigating their world includes looking at what their belief means for them.

From this perspective then it is really good to look at how their spiritual perspective aids them in their daily lives - so for example if love is a central tenet of their faith we might look at times when it is easier to love. Concentrating on that then helps that person to do more of it and at the same time develop in their belief.

This approach fits in well with spirituality - it helps you to grow and build on the strengths and abilities you already have and in other cases to rediscover your faith yet again.

I have not put any links in this section - I would be bound to leave too many out - so please get in touch and we can research together.
